Got some old 1/32 scale whomps or International32 chassis collecting dust?  Get out the cutting tools, safety goggles, and soldering Iron and turn them into snarling slot drag cars!  The first was an A.C. Shelby COBRA  wanted to try to get it to work without the wheelie bars so I could tool it around a road course if the urge struck. The Whoomp chassis was almost a perfect fit, but I wanted to use the scale front wheels and motor.  First need was to cut of the front wheel uprights off the whomp chassis as they would interfere with the scale suspension, build the kit chassis  and motor. The motor block will need the bottom cut out for guide clearance so I filled the inside with fish sinkers( guess the 429 is a boat anchor) ,glued radiator/oil cooler assembly ,let dry and harden overnight, then fit model chassis to the body shell. Next held the whomp chassis and motor to the kit and marked how much of the model chassis to cut of to fit as it worked out I had to glue some plastic tree sections across  to hold to the body and also to hook the whomp to it. A little eyeball measuring and I bent some small diameter piano wire to make some hooks and soldered them to the metal , a couple of brass pin tubes soldered to the back to hold the tail end up.

The lexan F/C was much simpler, took an Parma International 32 angle winder chassis , cut it in two, adjusted the length ,then soldered 2  1/8" Diam. piano wire main rail  ,then some wire soldered to the rear for wheelie bars, a little U shaped piece to hold pin tubing for body mount, and it is done. The Cobra still needs some fine tuning, tries to wheel stand even with the old Parma 16d, I think a gear ratio around 3 to 1  should help with all the weight runs around 11.60 . The funny car a steady 11.44
