I am a 28 years old married
man, we have one little girl. I've been building drag slot
cars since December of 2009, my father and I have gone from RC racing
to
slot cars and we love it. He is retired and has a lot of spare time but
not a lot of
extra funds and I'm an out of work plumber with a baby girl to raise.
My wife works long hours to keep us living a good life. So, during the
week
my dad watches our little girl while I look for work in the morning and
build us
some fairly slick drag cars at night.
The car I am entering
is the one I'm most proud of. It's a 2008 Camaro with military green
main body color with a flat black hood patch. It was inspired by the infamous
'73 F-Bomb
Camaro. I made the F-Bomb logos for it but, they did not pop like the
real ones did on the
scale Camaro. So we removed them but, every one knows without a doubt,
it's an F-Bomb.
The chassis is a WRP inline narrow chassis painted flat black with 3/32
drive train.
It was built using .072 stainless tubing main rails with .065 down bars
for the wheelie bar.
It's rolling on flat black Pro-Tracks painted flat black as well. It's
rolling on a
The power plant is a Pro-Slot 16D with timing cranked up. It does 1.20s
in the 1/4 mile.
It could do more, but I have it geared like that to be consistent.
I don't know what else to say
other than; I'm really enjoying this slot drag racing cars.
My wife likes it because it's economical. Besides, it gives my dad and
I a chance to bond closer.
The best thing is. we have made a lot of new friends and have had a lot
of great nights.
We race at Miracle Mile Raceway in Fl.
